Introduction
Make Time by Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky This book offers a practical four-step system for designing days with more intention. It begins with a simple observation. The busy bandwagon fills every spare moment with work, while infinity pools offer an endless escape from it. Make Time is an invitation to interrupt both defaults and choose how your attention is spent.
busy bandwagon and infinity pools
Busy Bandwagon and Infinity Pools Why do we feel like there is never enough time in our days? The truth is that our lack of time is actually self-imposed. There are two major forces at play in this daily struggle. The first force is the busy bandwagon.
This is the modern mindset telling us to squeeze work into every moment. The second force is the rise of infinity pools. These are digital sources of limitless and constantly replenishing content like social media. On average, people spend four hours watching television and another four hours on smartphones.
Exhausted by the busy bandwagon, we easily fall into these infinity pools. We end up bouncing back and forth between tasks and distractions all day long.
